Happy New Year 2018 and welcome to your Agape college small group description page!
As the name suggests, the theme of our college small group is LOVE – together, at the core, we will seek to grow in love for God and one another.
While we will be following our body’s one year Bible reading plan, the approach of the college small group will be particularly distinctive in that the focus of our weekly discussions is going to be the Sunday sermons. The hope is that this will help us deeply understand the underlining message and seek together how to apply it to our lives individually and collectively. I desire that this small group will spur you to incorporate these weekly sermons with your daily bible reading/devotions.
Also, the second goal is that this small group will produce Life Transformation Groups. A Life Transformation group is a spiritual growth and development tool to empower Christians to forge deeper meaningful relationships to do the uncommon work of reproductive disciple-making. It will be made up of two or three people, all of the same gender, who meet weekly for personal accountability in the areas of their spiritual growth and development. I will give more details about this during our first meet up.
Thus, if you are still at the basic foundation of your faith, this small group is for you. And if you are yearning for a deeper fellowship with God and people, this will be the right safe place to pursue it.
Considering that this small group is going to be dominantly community/fellowship focused, the small group will be demanding the most on Sundays as the plan is that we spend quality time together weekly after the official small group time. There will also be prayer partner system where two members will be paired together weekly to pray together and fellowship. I am also looking forward to ideas as to how to we can maximize our time together and spend it as qualitative as it can be. With weekly bible reading/devotions, small group attendance and fellowship time, at the minimum, please be prepared to devote about 7 – 8 hours weekly to the small group. The bulk of the time will be spent on Sunday.
