Sundays

[EPHESIANS FOR SINGLES 25-35 IN THE MORNING] closed
While some people consider this stage of life to be in limbo, without a significant other or kids, it’s truly an amazing opportunity to dive into the identity of God and grow in our relationship with Him.

Our group will be studying the book of Ephesians, coinciding with the church-wide Bible reading plan. Please be reading Ephesians daily, praying that God will open your hearts to his truth and reveal more of Himself each day.

The questions we’ll be discussing on Sunday will be made available midweek. Before each meeting, please read and meditate upon the Scriptures we’re covering and the questions. Be prepared to share the thoughts, questions, answers, and or applications you uncovered during your time in the Word.

For this group prayer is a priority. We will share praises and requests to pray for at each meeting, and continue praying for one another throughout the week.

Our goals:
Learn more about God and the glory of what He did through Jesus.
Discover the joy of God being our primary relationship.
Practicing servant-heartedness with one another and in our communities.
Make connections with others in a similar stage of life for the purpose of encouragement and friendship.

[PUMPED FOR EPHESIANS AND BOARD GAMES] closed
“Are you killing sin, actively right now, or is it killing you? (J.D Greear)”

The book of Ephesians is written to encourage believers on how the gospel affects every part of our lives. How we deal and fight with sin, how we live individually, in our relationships and communities. We will learn to be “rooted and grounded in love, to know the love of God, and to be filled with all the fullness of God’ (Eph 3:17-19). It sounds like a rather lofty goal, right? Don’t worry, the power belongs to God and He has given us this same resurrection power!

If you sign up, here are some things to expect:
1. Commit to attend meetings on time
2. Read the Bible passages
3. Pray for one another
4. Be prepared to participate

Get pumped for studying Ephesians and watch this video clip!

We will cover different topics(e.g., our values, forgotten generosity, defending your faith, joy through pain ) every week coinciding with each chapter, work on the application and have fun! [EPHESIANS INDUCTIVE BIBLE STUDY] closed
“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions-it is by grace you have been saved.”(Ephesians 2:4-5)

This small group is a community to study the Ephesians with the inductive Bible study method: observation, interpretation and application. All small group members are expected to read the weekly Bible chapters and prepare themselves for discussion and application. Learning God’s words and his heart, I pray for all of us to grow together and be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power (Eph.6:10) through sharing and praying for one another.

[DEEPLY EXPLORE AND UNDERSTAND THE BOOK OF EPHESIANS] closed
Do you think you are living your life fully according to the Word of God? If your answer is NO, you are not alone.

“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

On top of the church-wide Bible reading plan, we want to deeply explore and understand the book of Ephesians. Through this book, we will share and study how the Gospel story affects our everyday lives. We want to build a community that love and care for one another by encouraging one another to live by faith. Walking together in times of joy and sorrow, bearing with one another in love just as we are called to do so.

Please expect to:
1) have fellowship
2) pray for one another
3) serve the congregation and reach out to the outside community

Tuesdays

[ITAEWON BIBLE READING PLAN] 1 space remaining as of THURS 9/19 @ 11am
As a church, we are reading through the whole Bible again this year. Is this your first time reading through the whole Bible? Did you follow the Bible reading plan last year? Either way, reading through the whole Bible is a big undertaking. As a small group, we will encourage each other and help each other to grow in faith as we read God’s word.

Do you want to simply read the words on the pages, or do you want the living word of God to transform your heart and life?

As a small group we will meet together and discuss the scriptures covered from the previous week and share how God is using his word to make us more like Jesus. We will share Bible study ideas and practices to help each other get the most out of our time in scripture. We will worship and pray together each week. Members will be asked to share testimonies of how God has been working in their lives. We will dig through one passage together at each meeting. Each member will be asked to facilitate one meeting and lead us as we study a passage of scripture. Members will be encouraged to ask hard questions about our faith and we will share and learn from God’s word and each other, We will also have fun days and days of service. As a group we will decide what to do based on our interests. A lot of us at NHM are far away from our families. This is an opportunity to engage with your brothers and sisters in Christ and experience the family that God creates in the body of Christ.

This group will meet in the leader’s home in Itaewon-dong near the Hyatt Hotel on Tuesdays from 7-9pm. Please note there is a (nice) medium-sized dog in the home.

Wednesdays

[HAKDONG INTELLECTUALS] limited spaces remaining
This group is for intellectuals looking to align their worldview with the Word of God. Come with a passion to learn more about the Word, whether this is your first time reading through the Bible or you have read it a hundred times before. We will talk a lot about in depth personal application and be going deep into the fundamentals of each member’s worldview, so every member will need to actively share from their own experience and be willing to open up and be transparent about their beliefs as well as being willing to confront their own beliefs when they conflict with the Bible. We will also do some meta-analysis about how our lives are changing as we daily get into the Word and actively confront our own beliefs with it.

The church as a whole is encouraging everyone to follow the Bible reading plan daily, but our members will commit to reading daily, finishing the assigned readings, and commenting in the group plans after reading. We hope everyone in the church will be doing this regardless, but this small group will set ourselves to this task passionately.

To further encourage community, to facilitate mid-week evening scheduling, and to follow Biblical precedent, we will eat together as a part of each meeting. The eating part will be optional, but the being there part will not as we will conduct a lot of our meeting during the dinner.

We know mid-week groups often compete with work schedules, but if you commit to coming, you commit to us. The other members of the group will be counting on you to be here participating. It may be hard to make your boss or coworkers understand, but your spiritual development is more important than your career development, and this can even be a great way to share with your coworkers as it might make your Christianity more visible to the office.

[SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTING AND RIDICULOUSLY FUN] closed
Congratulations!! You’ve made it all the way down the page to Wednesday and I’m super proud of you!

Ok, you’ve read the other small group descriptions, so you get the gist. Still, I must add the disclaimer that I strongly believe (bordering on “guarantee”) that this small group will be spiritually uplifting AND ridiculously fun.

With that out of the way, all you need to do now is say “no” to F.O.M.O. (fear of missing out) and say “yes” to this SG. I’ll see you soon 😉
