Healthy Church Member

We all get sick in our bodies once in a while, but the dangerous part is when we don’t realize that we are sick, or we know that we are sick and don’t seek out treatment. What inevitably happens when a sickness goes untreated is it spreads and becomes life threatening. The same is with the body of Christ, if it’s members are healthy then the body functions well, but if the members are unhealthy then the whole body suffers. Our Guest speaker Pastor Gregg Brown exhorts us to check ourselves according to the example of a healthy church member set forth by Apostle Paul and the church in Philipi. You will be challenged and encouraged!

Pastor Gregg Brown is the Chaplain at Handong International University in Pohang, and also serves as an associate Pastor at Handong International Church.

Heaven 101a

What is Jesus preparing for you when you die?  When you close your eyes and imagine heaven, what comes to your mind?  Perhaps you see pictures of clouds and little chubby cherubim flying around with bows and arrows.  Or perhaps it’s a brilliant bright light where everyone who is there is shinning and has some type of form but it’s too blurry to see clearly.  Or lush rolling mountains with green fields with deers galloping along with birds chirping in the air.  Those are popular images, but they are not biblical, well maybe the last one is.  We take a look at what the Bible says about Heaven and the New Earth and it paints a much more glorious picture than an eternal sing along church service.  Let your imagination soar as you put your trust in Jesus!

Lead Where You Are Part 5

What a great way to end the series on Lead Where You Are – with Daniel walking blameless before the LORD and the King. There are two great obstacles/attacks that come against Daniel, 1) Betrayal by those who were his peers and 2) false accusations because of jealousy. But once again Daniel shines the light of Christ as he chooses not to defend himself or retaliate, instead trusts in the LORD and leaves room for God to defend him. How gloriously God defends Daniel as He sends an angel to shut the mouths of the lions. Revisit this wonderful story, and see that it’s not just for kids, but so applicable to us today as God calls us to lead where we are and use us to transform a nation!

Lead Where You Are Part 4

There are so many wonderful lessons in life that we can and should learn from.  Hopefully we will be wise and apply the godly principles that will form us into greater leaders/servants for Christ.  However, there are also great lessons can we learn from the mistakes we have made as well as the mistakes of others.  This week Pastor Doug asked the question, “What is the biggest mistake you have ever made, what is the biggest problem you have?”  As we look at the life of King Nebuchadnezzar we gain valuable insight on his mistakes so that we wont foolishly repeat them.  Watch the message and check your heart and see if you are making the same mistakes King Neb made, and if you are be quick to ask God for help in order to change.

Biggest Mistakes Leaders Shouldn’t Make: [Not necessarily in order of priority]

  1. Not Seeking After God
  2. Asking the Wrong people for the Right Advice
  3. Being afraid to tell the truth because you don’t want to offend
  4. Prideful, arrogance, self reliance – which Edges God Out “EGO”
