[KNOWING GOD AND PRAYER LIFE GROUP] closed
What does it mean to know God? Or are we merely just wanting to know ‘about’ God?

“Knowing God” by J. I. Packer is a Christian classic, which has been one of the most recommended Christian books and has profoundly impacted many Christians. Still, it’s a daunting thought to consider what it means to ‘know’ God.

According to Google Dictionary, to ‘know’ means “to be aware of through inquiry, information, and observation”; as well as, it means “to have developed a relationship with (someone) through meeting and spending time with them; be familiar or friendly with”. To ‘know’ God then, we should not only engage in our abstract learning of Who God is but also it means to live out the truth of Who God is in our daily lives.

So this group will focus on:
1. Learning about who God is – Please read each chapter each week faithfully and feel free to bring any questions and/or insights you have accumulated!
2. Applying the truth we learned to sink in and to impact our lives – Please expect to actively share lives and pray for one another.
3. Building fellowship – Please expect to invest into each other’s lives vitally for the next 12 weeks.

Along with studying the attributes of God, we will also take prayer more seriously for this group to actively live out the truth of Who God is. Therefore, members will be
1) Encouraged to attend NHM Monthly Prayer Meetings once a month besides the small group sessions and
2) Will be expected to participate in the prayer time before the worship service on Sunday mornings at 11am.

Do you really want to ‘know’ God? Have you ever felt like you don’t know how to really regurgitate the truth to let it sink in us? Let’s take this term to not only get to know God more intimately but also to learn to talk to Him more freely with fellow Christ-followers!

[GROW IN PASSION AND COMMITMENT] closed
Hello, fellow brothers and sisters in Christ! Great job reading through all of the other small group descriptions! I’m going to be honest with you and let you know that the book we are reading this term is REALLY DENSE, so it is crucial that you try your best to be on top of the reading AND get the major idea and deeper, underlying themes… which I will do my best to help you to do! 😀
Please pray about signing up for this group! Those who are prepared to commit yourself to attend every meeting with a willing heart, and an openness to be honest, respectful, listen, and share your thoughts and opinions are welcome! Our goal this term is to grow in passion and commitment to know God deeper, and be transformed even more into the likeness of Christ!
